Marion, Mississippi

I traveled to Marion to observe the destruction first hand. The men have done commendable work. I discussed our next movements with General Hurlbut. We will first veer to the Northwest to feel for Sooy Smith. Then we will return to Vicksburn at an easy pace, foraging liberally and destroy enemy production.
