Meridian, Mississippi

We are making good progress in the destruction of the railroads. Hurlbut is destroying the Selma road. I especially wish to destroy the Mobile and Ohio road.

The enemy abandoned much supplies in Meridian. Of note are shoes, clothing and ammunition of Cincinnati and Philadelphia manufacture. This is the result of greedy people trading with the enemy for personal gain.

I have still heard nothing from Sooy Smith.
