Louisville, Kentucky

I reached Louisville by train after the long journey from Nashville. Louisville was my first command. In those days, they laughed when I said it would take 200,000 men to advance on this line and hold it. Now no denies that I was correct. Two years ago, I barely had enough men to hold Louisville. I only held it because the enemy was too cautious. We have the advantage and should press the enemy wherever we can.
