Steamer Atlantic, Traveling to Memphis, Tennessee

I am en route to Memphis to lead my troops to Chattanooga for relief of General Rosecrans. One Division is accompanying me in this fleet. Corse’s Division will follow. My son Willy is very sick with fever. At Memphis, they will have medicines to treat him. The river is low and the steamers move slowly on the river. I do not expect to reach Memphis until Friday.
